Waiting to enter the catacombs
After taking a bunch of stairs down a spiral staircase, we entered this maze of tunnels which we traveled for a while until we got to the bones.
It was super scary!

Then, we headed up a ramp to enter the catacombs

The bones went on for a very, very long time
(and the ceiling was dripping on us)
(and, it was creepy)
(and, it was slick down there)

Much of this area was made of gypsum and limestone. I found this ceiling interesting as the number was written backwards and I'm not sure why (it's as if someone was peering down looking at it properly only it's not a window, so you can't look down at it).
At the end, we went up a TINY, spiral staircase of over 80 steps. It was a workout to say the least. When we got to the top, this is the first thing I spotted:
