Bonjour, this is Zoe.
After a bomb breakfast at the hotel, we took the subway to the catacombs where we got dead people drippings on us. It was an underground maze of dead bones from a long time ago. The ceilings were very low and wet, therefore we got dead drippings on our heads ("dead on my head"). Meredith had to walk the rest of her day with spirits on her boots. The flight both up and down was absolutely ridiculous, somewhere around 1000 steps each way made all of our legs sore. Overall it was interesting seeing all of the skulls and stacks of bodies.
Next we took a subway all the way to the northern outskirts of Paris (St. Ouen). We walked up and down, aisle after aisle and looked at antiques, trinkets, doodads, exotic statues, doll shops and Chanel suits. After a little bit of walking, we stopped for some paninis where we were forced to order in all French because the vendor spoke zero English. Most of us ordered the same sandwich and ate them happily on the steps. After our food, we went to use the restrooms which are very very hard to find in France so we were pleased to find some. We had to pay fifty cents in order to get in to them and Tori insisted on "getting her fifty cents worth." We shopped a little bit more and found some face masks, bobbles, peanuts and pickles before we were on our way back to the hotel in order to get ready for dinner.
At last, after spending lots of time figuring out what to wear (as always), it was time for our Eiffel Tower dinner. First, we raced to the subway and scurried to take a few pictures in front of the monument before mobbing over to the statue's elevator and heading up to the top. Before eating, we rode the lift to the very tippy top and enjoyed the beautiful view of all of France. Then, we traveled down to the first floor to eat at the restaurant. Dinner was great, pictures are up of the delicious food. The bathroom at the restaurant was like entering a spaceship because you had to put your hand on a censor in order to open the door. Next we went down the elevator and walked back across the street to watch the Eiffel Tower sparkle! It was beyond amazing. After that we went home to pack for our early morning departure the next day.
Daily recap:
Tori - brushed her hair a minimum of 35792 times and the best part of her day was being hit on by some French dudes until Mrs. Poort shooed them away and they ran and giggled because they realized that she was with her teacher.
Jess - the favorite part of her day was eating on the Eiffel Tower and her injuries include three blisters from wearing shoes too small.
Mere - her fav part was seeing all of the vintage Chanel suits at the flea market and looking at them in awe.
Madison - seeing the sparkley Eiffel Tower was her best part of the day.
Mrs. Poort - her favorite part was shopping at the flea market and close second seeing all of the sparkles on the Eiffel Tower and her least favorite was keeping her little chickadees away from all of the creepers.
Zoe - my favorite part was shopping at the flea market and looking at the vintage jewelry, j'adore!
Point total:
Five points for tori for using Ca m'enerve (how annoying) when Mrs. Poort got attacked by pigeons as well as five more for everyone taking a picture with a chicken.
